Jesus Christ, God’s Son and our Savior, is the center of what we believe, teach, and confess in the Lutheran Church. Out of His great love for us, He humbled Himself by taking upon Himself our human flesh. He suffered for sins He did not commit and shed His blood for our forgiveness. Now risen from the dead and seated at God’s right hand in heaven, He intercedes for us and visits us through the mysteries of the Church—the proclamation of His Word and the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. With eager expectation, we await His return to complete the new creation begun at His resurrection.
